Marketing Shouldn’t Feel Like Lying — But Too Often, It Does

I’ve been in marketing for a long time. Long enough to know that when it's done right, it’s not just about catchy phrases, flashy websites, or perfectly curated social media feeds. It's about truth. It's about connection. It's about helping the right people find solutions that actually help them.

But here's the uncomfortable truth no one really likes to say out loud: A lot of marketing is just dressed-up dishonesty.

I've been asked to spin stories that sound better than reality. I've been told to sell the potential of a product that doesn't quite work yet. I've watched businesses claim “#1 in the industry” with nothing to back it up.

And the worst part? I know I’m not alone.

Too many marketers are forced into a position where they’re expected to bend, blur, or flat-out rewrite the truth — not because they want to, but because the product or service just can’t live up to the promise. It’s exhausting, and frankly, it’s not sustainable for anyone who has pride in their work.

That’s why I’m intentional about the clients I work with. I want to work with companies that walk the talk. Businesses that provide real value, deliver real results, and treat their customers like humans — not clicks or conversions.

Because marketing doesn’t have to feel gross. When you’re proud of what you’re selling, marketing becomes something beautiful. It’s storytelling with integrity. It’s building relationships based on trust. It’s lighting a path to something that genuinely helps someone.

If you're a business doing good work and you're tired of being overlooked because you're not the loudest — let's talk. I’d be honored to help you share your story in a way that’s authentic, powerful, and true.

No gimmicks. No hype. Just the real deal.
