A Satisfied Customer Is the Best Business Strategy

We all love a good lead. That dopamine hit when a new inquiry rolls in is real. But here’s the hard truth: a steady stream of leads won’t grow your business if your back door is wide open.

Marketing is essential. It builds awareness, generates interest, and fills the pipeline. But if your customers aren't sticking around, you're not growing — you're just treading water.

Customer retention is the real engine of growth.

Marketing Isn’t Dying—It’s Evolving (And AI Can’t Replace Human Emotion)

About a year ago, I was working at a master class-style event where thought leaders from various industries gathered to talk about innovation and the future of business. During one of the sessions, the host—an otherwise brilliant speaker—declared that marketing was essentially “dying.” They went on to say that roles like “Marketing Manager” were soon to be obsolete because artificial intelligence (AI) would take over entirely.

I sat there, stunned. Not because I am in Marketing, but because I felt like the ONLY person there aware that AI lacks human emotion.

Yes, AI is evolving at breakneck speed. Tools like ChatGPT, automated ad platforms, machine learning analytics, and even creative generators are revolutionizing efficiency. But let’s be clear—marketing is not dying. It’s evolving. And most importantly, it’s evolving with humans still at the helm.

Marketing Shouldn’t Feel Like Lying — But Too Often, It Does

I’ve been in marketing for a long time. Long enough to know that when it's done right, it’s not just about catchy phrases, flashy websites, or perfectly curated social media feeds. It's about truth. It's about connection. It's about helping the right people find solutions that actually help them.

But here's the uncomfortable truth no one really likes to say out loud: A lot of marketing is just dressed-up dishonesty.

I've been asked to spin stories that sound better than reality. I've been told to sell the potential of a product that doesn't quite work yet. I've watched businesses claim “#1 in the industry” with nothing to back it up.

Think Twice Before Joining an MLM

Multilevel marketing (MLM) companies often promise financial freedom, flexible working hours, and the opportunity to be your own boss. However, beneath the glossy exterior lies a complex web of pitfalls that can lead to financial loss, strained relationships, and even legal issues. In this blog post, we'll delve into what MLMs are, explore their inherent issues, and discuss why it's wise to avoid them.

What are MLMs?

Multilevel marketing is a business model where individuals sell products directly to consumers and earn commissions not only from their sales but also from the sales made by people they recruit into the company. This structure creates multiple "levels" of distributors, hence the name.

The Dark Side of the Life-Coaching Industry

There is a genuine scam happening in the life-coach industry. I say that as an insider.

I have watched so many people give their hard-earned money to "coaches" who have made millions off of them because of their own hunger for success.

Many people go to these conferences and believe that cutting a check for THOUSANDS of dollars to talk to someone for 30 minutes a week or watch their pre-recorded content will change their lives and transform their results. Maybe it will, for some.

Marketing Should Be the Last Cost You Cut, Not the First

When financial constraints or economic uncertainty strike, businesses often scramble to cut costs. Unfortunately, one of the initial casualties is the marketing budget. This shortsighted approach, however, neglects the essential role marketing plays in lead generation and the long-term health of a business. Marketing should be prioritized, especially in times of cost-cutting, as there is critical consequences to losing lead generation capabilities.

The Detrimental Effects of Micromanagement on Company Culture

Company culture plays a crucial role in shaping the success and productivity of an organization. A positive and thriving culture fosters collaboration, innovation, and employee engagement. On the other hand, micromanagement, a management style characterized by excessive control and scrutiny, has the potential to wreak havoc on a company's culture. Micromanagement undermines trust, stifles creativity, and demotivates employees, ultimately leading to the erosion of a healthy and vibrant company culture.

Over Here: Where Are Your Most Valuable Website Visitors Coming From?

Craft Brand and Marketing Magazine (CBAM)
November/December 2019
By: Dalana Morse

The goal of online marketing is to drive as many visitors as possible to a given website. While this can be a worthwhile cause, it is also important to remember that not all website visitors are created equal. A certain subsection of your visitors will inherently be more interested in buying your product, contacting you, or just generally engaging with your website or brand in a productive way. These are the visitors that you want.

So, where do they come from?
